One of the most beautiful neoclassical buildings of Piraeus, facing the Saronic Gulf for over a century, today houses the Historic Library of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation.

It treasures round 280.000 rare editions, books collecting knowledge of centuries. The oldest book the library possesses is a Latin translation of Aristoteles’ “Problems”, which was printed in Mantua in 1473, in the first days of typography.
