“Construction & Demolition Waste Management” highlights the WES (Water and Environment Support) project’s efforts to help Mediterranean countries address the growing challenge of construction and demolition waste (CDW). The video explains how CDW, one of the region’s most significant waste streams, can shift from an environmental burden to a valuable resource when managed sustainably. Through technical assistance, policy support, and capacity building, the WES project guides national authorities, the construction sector, and key stakeholders in adopting integrated CDW management approaches — including better planning, selective demolition, recycling, and the use of recovered materials. The video showcases the environmental, economic, and social benefits of modern CDW practices and emphasizes the EU’s role in promoting safer, more resource-efficient, and circular construction systems. It calls for collaborative action to build a cleaner environment and a more sustainable future for the ENI Southern Neighborhood region.
